Fittings

The performance of windows and doors depends primarily on the quality of the fittings used, which are responsible for every movement of the sash, its precise pressing against the frame and protection against unauthorized opening. These are advanced systems of mechanisms hidden under glazing beads and inside profiles, which work daily for the comfort of residents, enabling smooth locking, micro-ventilation or tilt adjustment. At All Windows Group, we focus on cooperation with industry leaders such as Winkhaus, GU and Roto, delivering solutions tested for thousands of opening cycles, corrosion resistance and burglary resistance class up to RC2.

Advanced Fittings systems in practice

Modern Fittings technology allows for almost complete customization of how windows and doors operate within a building. The choice of a specific system affects not only ergonomics but also the aesthetics of the entire structure and its insulation parameters.

Invisible technology and minimalist design

For lovers of modern architecture, we have prepared solutions where the mechanics become completely discreet.

  • activPilot Topstar hidden hinges are fully concealed within the rebate clearance, so that no metal elements disturb the profile line when the window is closed.

  • Load capacity up to 130 kg (windows) and 150 kg (balcony doors) allows the use of hidden Fittings even with heavy, energy-efficient 3-glass packages, without the risk of sash sagging.

  • Modular design of the activPilot Concept C system facilitates quick extension of the window with additional locking points, raising the security standard without the need to replace the entire mechanism.

Automation and security of exterior doors

At the entrance area, it is crucial to combine tightness with intelligent locking functions.

  • GU SECURY MR2 multi-point locking with three or five locking points ensures that the door sash fits perfectly against the frame along its entire height, eliminating drafts and profile deformation.

  • GU SECURY Automatic self-locking mechanism automatically extends the bolts after each door closure, securing the house without the need for a key.

  • Integration with access control allows GU Fittings to connect with fingerprint readers, code keypads, or Smart Home systems, offering full control over building entry from a smartphone.

Solutions for large terrace glazing

Sliding systems require Fittings with extreme durability, capable of handling masses of several hundred kilograms.

  • GU-934 roller carriages allow smooth sliding of sashes weighing up to 350 kg, and reinforced versions up to 600 kg.

  • Innovative pressing movement of Roto Patio Inowa ensures that the sash is pressed perpendicular to the frame during closing, providing exceptional tightness not seen in traditional sliding systems.

  • Barrier-free thresholds compliant with DIN 18040 eliminate architectural obstacles, creating a flat transition between the living room and terrace while maintaining full thermal insulation.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions about Fittings

RC2 (Resistance Class 2) is a resistance standard that guarantees that the fitting will withstand an attempt of forced opening for at least 3 minutes. The design is based on the use of a greater number of locking points in the form of steel mushroom cams and reinforced perimeter keeps. Such a configuration effectively deters an opportunistic intruder using simple tools such as a screwdriver, pliers or wedges.

Yes, to maintain smooth operation, it is recommended to lubricate moving Fittings parts and locks at least once a year with technical petroleum jelly or special Fittings oil. This prevents metal-on-metal friction and prolongs the mechanism’s lifespan.

Standard Fittings have visible hinges covered with plastic caps. Hidden Fittings (e.g., Topstar) are fully installed inside the frame. Besides aesthetic advantages, hidden Fittings provide better sealing, as the gasket around the entire window is not interrupted or compressed by a hinge.

This is a special handle setting (usually at a 45-degree angle), which slightly moves the sash away from the frame (approx. 3-5 mm). It allows continuous air exchange in the room without fully opening the window, which is essential for maintaining a healthy microclimate and avoiding moisture buildup.

Thanks to systems like HS LiftUnit, the force required to lift and slide a massive sash is reduced by up to 50%. This allows even children or elderly people to operate large terrace glazing effortlessly.
