PVC windows vs. balcony doors
Very often the term balcony door is used, which does not really fully reflect what balcony woodwork is. What we think of when we say this is nothing more than an ordinary PVC window that is specially adapted. So we can use the term that what we take for a balcony door is actually a large window. Doors, by design, are something completely different.
Naturally, we offer balcony windows and are able to make them from the window profiles of all the manufacturers we work with.
PVC or PVC windows? Is there a difference?
We often encounter the question of whether it is correct to say “PVC windows” or “PVC windows.” It is worth dispelling doubts on this subject. The international nomenclature uses the abbreviation “PVC” from poly(vinyl chloride), which stands for polyvinyl chloride, a material widely used in the production of plastic windows. It is a correct term and widely used around the world, although in Poland we are used to the name PVC.
In Polish, the correct term is “PVC,” which is derived from the Polish “poly(vinyl chloride).” However, in practice and colloquial language, the abbreviation “PVC” is often used, which is not correct from either the English name or the Polish equivalent, but has gained popularity in Poland as a colloquial form.
There is no difference between windows referred to as “PVC” and those called “PVC” – both terms refer to the same type of plastic windows made of polyvinyl chloride. Nevertheless, for greater precision and compliance with international standards, it is recommended to use the abbreviation “PVC” or Polish “PVC.”
